lululemon opens its first Swiss store today in Zurich

In the heart of Zurich's old town opens its doors today the first Swiss store of Canadian yoga-inspired sportswear company lululemon The unique combination of a shop, and a community space at Marktgasse 12 offers a wide range of yoga and sportswear for both men and women but also free yoga and other workout sessions for the local community. The 427 square meter store is the eighth in Europe and each lululemon branch has a unique store interior.
The Zurich store is inspired by the Swiss landscape and the city of Zurich and relies on materials such as copper and Krion as modern interpretations of mountain scenery.
As a tribute to the record number of water-drinking fountains in Zurich  the two-storey shop in the historic Old Town building will boast two on-site water games.
The ground floor will offer on 242 square meters lululemon's innovative and technical sports apparel for men and women for yoga, fitness, water sports and cycling.

MORE THAN A STORE

Zurich is lively and full of energy. Passion for fitness, health and outdoor sports is everywhere, making it an ideal place for lululemon. The first floor of the flagship store is completely dedicated to the local community: 185 square meters, to meet, to get to know and of course to sweat together. Renowned teachers will offer free yoga units, meditation or fitness classes. Comfortable seating, tables and benches, and rotating art exhibits - to kick off a series of photos of local sports photographer Silvano Zeiter - invite you to linger.

OPENING ACTIVITIES

At yesterday sneak peek event, guests were able to celebrate the opening and take a first look into the spacious and bright shop. To mark the official opening, today at 18:30 on the forecourt of the store a special Sweat class will be offered headed by Ambassadors Simon and Nora Kersten. The sweating goes on Saturday morning with a community yoga class taught by Ambassador Chantal Hauser on the first floor of the new store.
